Post apocalyptic opener 'Symptom of Man / Bound by Oppression' showcases a tight band used to performing together. Vocally touching more on a Heavy Metal style, whilst musically there is more than a little early 80's influence about the fast paced guitar leads and simplified but dominant drumming display. Whilst I wouldn't go so far as to call Acid Cross Black/Thrash, there is definitely a touch of that kind of influence around the bands darkened style.
You can hear a strong Heavy Metal vibe in groovier tracks such as 'Serpentum Dectem Dominatum' and ''Terrifier' which rely on pummelling bass to add heaviness whilst the vocal gives more than just a nod of the head and tip of the cap to some Punk influences. The latter track also sees Acid Cross open the tap on some more mid-paced catchy guitar leads. It isn't all champagne and rainbows though, and there are parts of 'Post Human Eradication / Awaken Decimator' that I can take or leave, mainly the squealier vocals that never do much for me. That said the EP remains consistently entertaining throughout and has such a blend of varying styles that there is something here for most people to enjoy. (Luke Hayhurst)
